Two days after a businessman was murdered in Andheri, Nadeem Shaikh (30) was arrested from a slum in Govandi after a dramatic chase.

MUMBAI: Two days after a businessman was murdered in Andheri, Nadeem Shaikh (30) was arrested from a slum in Govandi after a dramatic chase.
On seeing the cops, Nadeem, who was playing carrom on the first floor of a house, jumped off. Four crime branch cops jumped from the first floor and chased Nadeem, who suffered a leg injury. He was caught after a half kilometre chase, said senior inspector Mahesh Desai of crime branch.
Police said Nadeem was hired by Abdul Latif alias Sonu Shaikh (38), who has been arrested.

Latif had allegedly given a contract to Nadeem to kill businessman Abdul Munaf Sheikh (55) on the instructions of some persons, one of whom is a builder.
The probe into the case has been transferred to the crime branch. Latif was produced in the Andheri court, which has remanded him in police custody till August 28.
